From September 22nd Torino will become the capital of ‘good, clean and fair’ food, when the doors of Terra Madre – Salone del Gusto open. This is one of the most important international events dedicated to gastronomics and good cooking.

Thirty years have passed since, in 1986, Arcigola, a movement for a ‘slow food’, for the safeguarding and the right to pleasure, a manifest that contrasted ‘fast life’ and the frenzy that, even more today, drives our society.

The movement for the defence of the simple pleasures of everyday life, from conviviality to new gastronomics, where the values such as environmental and social sustainability, traditions, the culture and teaching of informed nutrition, have made it possible for a small group born in Bra to become Slow Food, an international non-profit association with more than 100,000 members in 150 countries and a network of 2000 economic operators who deal with the production of sustainable, quality food.

On the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, Slow Food has chosen to award Acquerello its famous Snail of Approval, because in addition to supporting the philosophy of the movement, we have always been committed to the cultural and educational promotion of the slow philosophy: for years we have been one of the teaching sites of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo and last year we organized Mercoledì Riso, (rice on Wednesdays) an educational programme for European junior schools and we have always taken part in the Salone del Gusto, putting into practice Slow Food’s philosophy and exchange of gastronomic culture.

For this reason we have decided to create a limited edition can with the Slow Food thirtieth anniversary snail, to be presented during Terra Madre - Salone del Gusto 2016. We look forward seeing you between the 22nd and 26th of September at the Parco del Valentino - lungo Po – Mercato Italiano Stand E184
